Dusty Skies in Texas

Mar. 15th, 2006 05:14 pm internet store

I resubmitted two sheets of designs to be vulcanized into unmounted rubber stamps. I have 2 completely finished small hooked wool pieces, plus one being hemmed and one almost finished. The larger pieces number five, I think. I have purchased fabric for my handbag designs. Finding a seamstress has been more difficult than I expected. So when it all comes together, I will have a store front offering original unmounted rubber stamps, original hooked wool pieces and (hopefully) original handbags and totes.

I finally started posting on Ebay. Four hooked wool pieces have sold so far. I'm a little doubtful that artwork will sell. I joined the ZNE group.

Two days of gambling produced my casino hangover. Now it is back to work.

Sep. 11th, 2005 05:38 pm work update

I'm back to working on wooden boxes. Now I'm using permanent inks and modern designs. I have also painted two 'quilt design' pieces using crayons, watercolor, color pencil and markers. I have used rubber stamps for greeting cards to sell. I'm still considering getting my own drawings made into stamps for my own work.
Glad my dry spell is over. I get cranky when I'm not creating. The dry spell was broken by a two day trip to a couple of casinos. I wonder if other artists relate to gambling that way?
I wrapped up a couple of packages to send to Brazil. The new girl I'm sponsoring is more of a challenge for me because she is so young.

Finished stamping boxes. Put them for sale at the hotel. Replenished the supply of my pins for sale there. I haven't heard from my other five consignment stores lately.
I have been thinking of working two or three days a week in our store next year. It depends on how Rick's hospital visit goes in January. It also depends on how life looks in general after the holidays.

You Are From Neptune

You are dreamy and mystical, with a natural psychic ability.
You love music, poetry, dance, and (most of all) the open sea.
Your soul is filled with possibilities, and your heart overflows with compassion.
You can be in a room full of friendly people and feel all alone.
If you don't get carried away with one idea, your spiritual nature will see you through anything.

Spent the day in Amarillo yesterday. Lunch at Leal's was wonderful. I purchased some white 'cigar' boxes which I have been stamping. The 'preacher' had books for a dollar, so I got one to attempt an altered book. I also got some color copies made of a few family photos, but I am not sure yet how I will use them. I have been working on genealogy. Oh, I came home to a message from a guy at National Public Radio.
